Service teams from Canada and the United States will take part in the Volvo Trucks World Finals in Sweden this September, facing technical and operational challenges alongside leading teams from the company’s international network.

Three teams from the Volvo Trucks North America service network will compete in the VISTA 2026 World Finals in Gothenburg this September, after ranking among the top performers in North American semi-finals involving 38 teams.

The teams will take part in VISTA, the Volvo International Service Training Award, alongside participants from the Volvo Trucks network in more than 100 countries. The biennial programme focuses on training and assessing the skills of aftermarket service professionals.

Held every two years, the programme involves thousands of service technicians from Volvo Trucks’ international network in practical exercises based on typical workshop situations. The activities cover technical knowledge, coordination between team members and the management of customer support work.

The competition consists of several theoretical and practical tests, including timed diagnostics, fault-finding and team problem-solving exercises. The challenges replicate workshop operating conditions, from electrical systems to more complex vehicle diagnostics, and assess teams’ ability to work in a coordinated way and manage technical work within set time limits.

“VISTA is one of my favorite programs because it represents everything that makes the Volvo Trucks service network so strong — passion, teamwork, technical excellence and a relentless commitment to supporting our customers. Programs like this highlight the expertise across our dealer network, and seeing these teams earn a place on the global stage is a significant accomplishment. It’s a proud moment for them and the dealerships they represent.”

Said Peter Voorhoeve, president of Volvo Trucks North America.

“Continuous learning is critical in today’s rapidly evolving service environment, and VISTA brings that learning to life in a way that’s engaging and rewarding. The competition reflects the passion our dealership teams bring to supporting customers every day and highlights the importance of investing in ongoing training across the Volvo Trucks network.”

Said Steven Parkins, vice president of Volvo Trucks Academy.

At the end of the North American semi-finals, held from May 4 to 17, three teams secured a place in the VISTA 2026 World Finals, scheduled for September 7–11 in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The North American teams advancing to the VISTA 2026 Final Event are:

VISTA, a programme launched in Sweden in 1957

Launched in Sweden in 1957, VISTA is now a biennial event involving Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses service professionals from more than 100 countries. Teams of two to four members take part in a series of theoretical and practical tests, with the highest-scoring teams progressing to the Gothenburg final.

Through simulations of typical workshop activities, VISTA is used to update the technical skills of service teams and encourage knowledge-sharing across the Volvo Trucks network. The aim is to strengthen technicians’ preparation for vehicle service and repair work.
