Scott Park, CEO and vice chairman of Doosan Bobcat, will take the interim regional role as the company seeks to preserve momentum across dealers, products and manufacturing.

Bobcat is preparing for a leadership transition in North America: Mike Ballweber, president of Doosan Bobcat North America Inc., will retire on July 31, 2026, ending a career of nearly three decades with the company. Scott Park, CEO and vice chairman of Doosan Bobcat Inc., will become interim president for the region while the company searches for a permanent successor.

Ballweber joined Bobcat in 1998 and became president in 2019. His tenure covered a period of expansion for the manufacturer, including efforts to strengthen the dealer network, broaden the product portfolio and advance manufacturing and innovation initiatives.

It was also a period marked by disruption. The North American construction equipment business faced the COVID-19 pandemic, supply chain constraints and shifting demand patterns across compact equipment, rental fleets and professional contractors. Maintaining product availability, dealer service levels and customer relationships became as important as launching new machines.

“Mike’s impact on this business has been significant, not just in the results he helped deliver, but in the way he led. He brought a deep commitment to our employees, dealers and customers, and he helped position Bobcat for continued success. We are grateful for his leadership and lasting contributions and are confident in our continued momentum moving forward.”

Said Park.

For Bobcat, the leadership change comes as the company continues to compete across a wider range of equipment categories and applications. The brand’s footprint spans compact construction equipment and related product lines used by contractors, landscapers, rental companies, municipalities and agricultural operators. In this environment, continuity at the regional level can have a practical impact on dealer planning, product support and fleet purchasing decisions.

Park’s interim appointment also signals that Doosan Bobcat intends to keep the transition closely connected to its wider corporate strategy. As CEO and vice chairman, he will work with the North American leadership team until a successor is named, helping maintain alignment between regional operations and the company’s global priorities.

Ballweber will remain actively involved through his retirement date to support the handover. The company did not announce a timeline for naming a permanent North American president.

“I’m sincerely grateful to have led this organization and worked alongside such talented colleagues, dealers and customers. This is a bittersweet moment, as Bobcat has been such an important part of my life. My retirement comes with great pride in what we’ve accomplished together and with confidence in the strength of our team, our strategy and the future ahead.”

Ballweber commented.

Beyond the executive change itself, the next test for Bobcat will be how smoothly it sustains its operating momentum in North America.
