Dynapac is introducing a new flexible ballast pneumatic tire roller. The flexibility of ballast weight allows contractors to choose a working weight from 10.5 to 31 tons to meet job site requirements. The versatile CP28 roller is ideal for a wide range of applications, such as proof rolling soil and base, mainline asphalt compaction, and chip sealing.

Flexible ballast system for easy adjustment

The CP28 features a flexible ballast system with three watertight compartments. Steel plates can be easily added or removed from ballast compartments using forklifts. For enhanced weight flexibility, the machine can be ballasted with other materials like wet sand, water, or steel. This flexibility allows the contractor to optimize the machine weight from 10.5 tons to a maximum weight of 31 tons.

Optimized tires-to-surface contact

The Dynapac CP28 features redesigned air-on-the-run (AOR) and tire suspension systems for greater control and uniform compaction. The AOR system allows precise tire pressure control to offer ideal wheel load weight for any application and can inflate all tires from low to fully inflated in only 12 minutes.

The newly designed front and rear suspension systems help optimize tires-to-surface contact. The front suspension includes a 4.5-degree lateral oscillation and a 1.5-degree tire tilt, while the new rear suspension offers a 2-degree tire tilt to both sides. Enhanced suspension movement helps maintain tire contact with the surface, leaving the operator with the best-in-class compaction result.

Each tire has its own water nozzle, cocoa mat, and scraper as a standard feature. Options such as an independent emulsion spray system combined with Dyn@guard emulsion solution and tire skirts to help trap heat on the tires to limit asphalt pick up on the job site.

A station designed for fatigue-free operation

Following in the footsteps of Dynapac heavy tandem roller line, the CP28 roller standard features include a fully adjustable swivel and slide seat, 7-inch colour touch screen, harmonized controls across asphalt product line, and premium operator station.

Clear visibility to the front and rear

The CP28 can be customized with an asymmetric cab, allowing operators to achieve ample visibility while remaining inside the cab for enhanced control. The frame design is carefully crafted to achieve superior visibility in both front and rear of the machine allowing the operator to control the machine precisely for asphalt or chipseal compaction applications.

Water is only used when it’s needed

The CP28 pneumatic roller is designed with sustainability in mind, including fully adjustable ECO mode to minimize environmental impact. This feature maintains the lowest possible RPM while ensuring sufficient power is available for compaction. The efficient water system includes Automatic Water Control (AWC), using water only when needed.
