Excessive noise and dust emissions can cause health and environmental damage to the places, people, and animals around them. Kleemann is continuously developing new measures to reduce and contain noise and dust emissions around its crushing and screening machines. Its latest EVO2 generation of machines work with a lower sound power level than predecessor models.
With more urban construction taking place, noise emissions have become more prevalent – and more noticed. Comprehensive noise protection efforts are becoming more important because of this. However, there are no standardized regulations from place to place when it comes to sound levels.
Noise emissions a focus around crushing plants
In order to optimize noise protection for residents and the team on the construction site, Kleemann has worked extensively to reduce the noise emissions from its plants.
Standard Kleemann EVO2 machines operate at 87-88 decibels (dB) at the operator’s stand, and optional noise protection can drop the sound power level of the plant by another 3 dB, halving the perceived noise level. For comparison, a vacuum cleaner operates at around 70 dB, while a pneumatic drill reaches approximately 120 dB.
As fan speed is regulated according to load, ambient temperature and degree of cooler contamination, even the basic configuration of the MOBICAT MC 110(i) EVO2 is very low noise. With an additional noise-protection package, the plant can be operated without noise-damping headsets, depending on ambient conditions and local regulations. Even without the noise protection package, noise measured directly at the machine is only 90 dB – and with the package, it is only around 85 dB.
