The first unit was delivered in May 2026 for large-scale open-pit coal mining, marking SANY’s official entry into Europe’s 100-tonne-and-above excavator segment.
SANY delivered its first SY1250H mining excavator to the European market in May 2026. The 120-tonne machine will be deployed in large-scale local open-pit coal mining operations.
The delivery marks the official entry of SANY’s 100-tonne-and-above mining excavators into Europe’s high-end market, a segment shaped by stringent industry standards. The model is already established in Latin America and Asia-Pacific, where it has been recognised for robust performance, high equipment uptime and reliability in harsh mining environments.
At an operating weight of 120 tonnes, the SY1250H is specified with an 8 m³ bucket and a 567 kW engine. The machine is designed for heavy-duty mining applications and can be configured with more than 20 optional working devices, allowing operators to adapt it to different material types and site requirements.
Its engine protection system includes multi-stage reinforced fuel filtration, a relevant feature for mines operating in dusty conditions or in remote areas where fuel quality and contamination control can directly influence component life and maintenance planning.
The excavator has a designed service life of up to 25,000 operating hours, around 30% longer than previous models. The company also points to extended maintenance intervals through the use of durable oils and filters, with a stated potential reduction in maintenance expenses of up to 50%.
The SY1250H uses an optimised engine–pump–valve matching system to coordinate power delivery across the hydraulic circuit. The setup is designed to improve energy transfer between the engine and working hydraulics, supporting lower fuel consumption and more consistent digging and loading performance during continuous-duty mining cycles.
The SY1250H’s arrival gives SANY a more visible position in Europe’s large-mining-equipment segment. Moving forward, SANY said it will continue adapting its products to global market needs and work with mining customers worldwide as it expands its presence in the heavy-excavator segment.
