Underground construction often requires machines that are versatile and capable of demanding work in tight spaces. The Liebherr R 930 Tunnel is a new excavator specifically targeted at tunnelling and underground quarrying work.
Designed to fit into close quarters with difficult access, the R 930 Tunnel excavator has an attachment that is available in two lengths and features a bearing that can swivel to 2 x 45-degree angles, allowing the profile of the excavation to be followed. It features a short tail uppercarriage for smaller footprint. A short slewing radius and powerful, protected LED headlights reduce the risks of collision with walls and construction personnel. Cylinders and hoses are positioned in a way to better protect against impacts, and steel bodywork ensures the machine is robust and ready for underground work.
The R 930 Tunnel can be equipped with Liebherr’s quick coupling system for easy and fast tool changes. A Liebherr two- or three-tooth ripper bucket ensures high productivity in underground work. It can also be equipped with a cutter or hammer for additional applications. The grading blade can flatten ground surfaces and stabilize the machine, as well as protecting the undercarriage and crawler drives from rubble.
Operators will find the cab to be designed for safety. It is ROPS-, FOPS-, and FGPS-certified, and has rear and side monitoring cameras, as well as protection for electronic components. The cab withstands dusty environments, comes with an easy-to-clean operator’s seat, and is comfortable and ergonomic.
