“Bauma 2025 will be the industry’s “heartbeat,” and will provide a technology-driven, forward-looking platform for the construction equipment sector. We will host a significant range of exhibitors, covering an impressive 640,000 square meters—equivalent to 86 soccer fields. We expect to approach pre-pandemic attendees’ numbers, with nearly 500,000 visitors anticipated.”

affirmed Rummel.

Drawing professionals, innovators, and thought leaders from around the globe, Bauma has always been a benchmark event for revealing cutting-edge trends, technologies, and solutions that drive progress. This year’s exhibition, however, comes with an even more ambitious agenda: to push the boundaries of sustainability, digital transformation, and resilience in construction and mining.

Bauma 2025: What to Expect

Reflecting the industry’s response to rising environmental and operational challenges, Bauma 2025 will highlight five key themes. In particular they are:

  1. Climate Neutrality
As the construction industry works towards the goal of climate neutrality by 2050, Bauma 2025 will focus on the strategies and technologies needed to make this a reality. With insights on frameworks, investment opportunities, and collaborative roadmaps, the event aims to offer a comprehensive view of how the industry can transition to sustainable practices affordably and effectively.
  2. Alternative Drive Concepts
Recognizing the unique power requirements of construction machinery, Bauma will showcase a range of drive options, from hydrogen and eFuels to battery-electric systems. This theme explores how diverse energy solutions can be tailored to meet the demands of specific machinery and construction site conditions, highlighting advancements that support more sustainable energy delivery.
  3. Networked Construction
With a focus on digitization, networked construction is set to revolutionize workflows by connecting machines, processes, and people. Attendees can expect to see innovations in data management and automated construction techniques aimed at improving efficiency, safety, and environmental performance across all construction sectors. For young talents, Bauma offers the “Think Big!” initiative, featuring hands-on opportunities for students to engage with modern machinery, creating early exposure to industry innovation. Additionally, the Forum’s daily agenda, focused on relevant industry topics, promises diverse speakers, panel discussions, and insights from experts and startups. For attendees, this platform is invaluable for its market transparency and technology updates, creating essential face-to-face interactions in a digitally evolving world.
  4. Sustainable Construction
Sustainability will also take center stage as exhibitors and speakers dive into the latest in recycled building materials, carbon-reducing concrete mixes, and circular economy practices. The emphasis will be on construction methods that minimize resource use and waste, helping the industry significantly reduce its carbon footprint.
  5. The Mining Challenge
With global demand for raw materials growing, Bauma will address how to secure sustainable commodity supply chains. This includes discussions on automation, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles, and methods for minimizing environmental impact in both surface and underground mining.

Shaping the Future Together

Bauma 2025 is expected to be more than a trade fair: it’s a gathering of industry visionaries committed to reshaping the construction and mining landscape to be more sustainable, efficient, and resilient. The event represents a strong moment also for the city of Munich itself:

“To accommodate such a huge scale, we’ve added a new entrance to streamline traffic, reinforcing Munich as a construction “small city.”  -noted  Schmid – “ We are excited to welcome returning key exhibitors like Volvo and Caterpillar and first-time participants like Sandvik and Q Robotics”

To know what Bauma 2025 will be we need to wait until next April, but one thing’s sure:

the exhibition is set to inspire and equip professionals with the tools, knowledge, and partnerships needed to drive meaningful change. By uniting industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers, Bauma 2025 offers a platform to reimagine what’s possible and chart a path forward for a sustainable and prosperous future in construction and mining for years to come.
