Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe) is expanding its Amsterdam customisation centre with a dedicated engineering partner for attachments, ICT and software.

European contractors rarely want a machine exactly as it leaves the factory. Tiltrotators, machine control, telematics and application-specific kits have become part of the order, and the manufacturer that can deliver them integrated and ready to work has an edge. Hitachi Construction Machinery (Europe), currently transitioning to the LANDCROS brand, is betting on that with a new engineering partnership.

HCME has signed a strategic agreement with Akkodis, the engineering and technology company of the Adecco Group, to accelerate the development of what it calls Advanced Integrated Solutions at its European Customisation Centre (ECC) in Amsterdam.

What the ECC does

The ECC is LANDCROS’s dedicated facility for customer-specific machine solutions in Europe. It combines engineering, application knowledge and technology integration to adapt standard machines to individual requirements. The partnership is meant to expand its capacity to design and deliver smart attachments, ICT and other technology, and to do it faster.

LANDCROS already works with technology partners including Rototilt, Engcon, Leica Geosystems and Trimble, and says more will follow.

Why now

HCME reasons that European operators are among the most advanced and demanding in the industry, running sophisticated fleets and expecting continuous innovation. Meeting that expectation, the company says, means moving beyond a single global machine specification and building in-house engineering capability that keeps pace with the market.

“This initiative is a key enabler, and a clear example of the Open Source Solutions approach we’re adopting across LANDCROS. Akkodis’s unique skills give us the engineering capability to meet that strategic purpose, and to accelerate it.”

Said Francesco Quaranta, HCME President and CEO.

From on-site team to engineering centre

For Akkodis, the agreement expands an existing relationship.

“We are moving from an on-site team to a dedicated engineering center and expanding beyond mechanical engineering to also cover software, systems and electrical engineering,”

Said Robert van der Eijk, CEO of Akkodis Benelux.

For dealers and customers, the practical promise is faster access to tailored machines that arrive ready for the job, with the integration work done before delivery rather than in the dealer’s workshop.

The move comes as Hitachi Construction Machinery prepares to change its corporate name to LANDCROS Corporation on April 1, 2027.
