Volvo recently unleashed its biggest redesign in 20 years for its midsize and large excavators with the new F-Series.
Along with the new series is all-new model nomenclature, which no longer carries the series’ letter on the machine and more closely matches the excavator’s weight.
On The Dirt, we get a rundown on the many upgrades on the eight new F-Series models, from Volvo excavator product manager Sung Sook “SS” Kim.
The F-Series brings increased productivity, new styling, a completely redesigned cab, more safety features and a host of new technology from the previous E-Series models.
The newest models in the F-Series are the EC210, EC230, EC260, EC300, EC370, EC400, EC500 and a short-swing radius ECR145. The excavators range in size from 32,500 to 116,000 pounds.
