Epiroc has signed a strategic partnership with SANY Group to explore wider collaboration in selected areas of the mining and infrastructure markets.
On the infrastructure side, the two companies plan to develop joint equipment and tooling packages. The idea is to offer combinations that pair Epiroc hydraulic breakers, speciality attachments and ground-engaging tools (GET) with SANY’s excavators and loaders, giving customers more integrated options for common jobsite applications.
In mining, the cooperation will focus on electrification. Epiroc will bring its electrified equipment, charging solutions and global service network, while SANY contributes its experience in electric microgrids and green energy systems. The companies say the goal is to help customers improve productivity as mines move toward lower-emission operations.
“SANY’s innovations in electrification, equipment, and smart manufacturing are truly impressive. Epiroc leads mining and infrastructure applications in the fields of equipment automation, electrification and digitalisation. We look forward to combining our respective technologies and resources to deliver more efficient and sustainable solutions for customers worldwide, creating new value and energy resilience for the industry.”
Says José Manuel Sánchez, President of Epiroc’s Tools & Attachments Business Area.
“Epiroc is a global leader in mining equipment technology, while SANY has significant advantages in new energy construction machinery and smart manufacturing. This strategic partnership represents a major step forward in our globalisation strategy and will accelerate the transformation of the global mining industry towards low-carbon and intelligent operations.”
Added Lihua Tang, Group Director of SANY.
The agreement was formally marked during a signing ceremony at SANY Industrial Park in Changsha, China, where Sánchez and Tang joined the event that officially set the framework for future collaboration between the two groups.
