Co-founder Stefan Stockhaus moves to an advisory role at owner Solix as the tiltrotator maker prepares its next phase of international growth
For the first time since it was founded, Steelwrist will be led by someone other than its co-founder. Jon Lind will become CEO of the Terratech Group and Steelwrist on 1 November 2026, succeeding Stefan Stockhaus.
Stockhaus founded the Swedish tiltrotator and quick coupler manufacturer with Markus Nilsson in 2005 and has been CEO ever since. He will step down and become Industrial Advisor to Solix, the principal owner, contributing his experience in building international industrial companies.
A planned succession
The change is not a reaction to trouble. Steelwrist and the Terratech Group describe themselves as being in a strong growth phase, with ambitions for further international expansion, and Solix remains committed as long-term owner. With the next phase of development planned over at least five years, Solix and Stockhaus agreed that now was the right moment for a new CEO who could lead the business throughout that period.
Lind was appointed after a recruitment process. A handover has already begun, and Stockhaus will support him for six months to ensure continuity.
“I have personally interviewed the vast majority of the people we have hired around the world, and it makes me especially proud to see the team we have become and the outstanding culture we have created together,” Stockhaus said. “I feel very confident handing over to Jon. He is down-to-earth, action-oriented and humble, and I am convinced that he has the qualities required to lead Steelwrist and Terratech forward.”
Listening first
Lind’s first priority is the customer. “I want to start by listening and understanding what our customers need, what we do really well and where we can improve,” he said. “Together with our employees, customers and partners, I want to continue developing our products and businesses to create even greater value for our customers.”
For excavator owners and OEMs working with Steelwrist, the long transition and the founder’s continued advisory role point to continuity rather than a change of course.
