The deal moves MPS beyond its automotive aftermarket and heavy-duty commercial vehicle base, adding HKX’s auxiliary hydraulics and controls integration expertise for excavators and other heavy equipment.
Multi Parts Solutions has acquired HKX, Inc., a Monroe, Washington-based manufacturer of auxiliary hydraulic kits and control-system solutions for excavators and other heavy equipment, marking MPS’ entry into the construction equipment market.
The acquisition establishes HKX as the company’s third operating division, alongside ACC Heavy Duty, formerly American Chrome Co., for commercial vehicles and MPS Automotive for the automotive aftermarket. For MPS, the move extends its engineered-solutions model into a sector where attachment integration, hydraulic performance and machine compatibility are increasingly central to equipment productivity.
HKX has built its business over more than 30 years around install-ready hydraulic kits that allow excavators and other heavy equipment to operate attachments such as breakers, thumbs, shears and rotating tools. The company is also known for application engineering, dealer support and short lead times, with a particular strength in controls integration.
That controls expertise has become more important as machines have moved from mechanical pilot controls to electro-hydraulic and CAN-based systems. According to the company, HKX can add or augment controls within a machine’s existing electronics, allowing upgraded equipment to operate smoothly and without error codes.
For dealers, equipment owners and OEMs, MPS says the day-to-day relationship with HKX will remain unchanged. The difference will be the resources behind the business. HKX is expected to gain access to broader engineering support, new product development capabilities and long-term investment to support both new and aging equipment.

Cohn said the company’s focus is to invest in HKX so the team can develop more products, support more customers and scale the strengths that have already defined the business.
MPS will bring global engineering, sourcing, testing, manufacturing and quality capabilities to HKX, together with its proprietary Sigma development process. HKX contributes application knowledge, controls integration expertise and a dealer network built since 1993. The combination is intended to support work with additional equipment manufacturers and dealer groups looking for specialized application and attachment-integration support.

HKX will continue operating from its Monroe, Washington facility, where in-house fabrication, CNC tube bending, kitting and application engineering support fast response to custom orders. Burnett and the existing leadership team will continue to lead the division.
