The AEM Manufacturing Express visit to Connecticut highlights Steelwrist’s investment in local assembly, testing and technical support for the North American market.

Steelwrist’s expanding presence in North America reflects a broader shift in the excavator attachment market, as contractors explore technologies designed to improve productivity and machine versatility. On September 28, the company welcomed the AEM Manufacturing Express to its headquarters in Newington, Connecticut, offering a closer look at its recently expanded U.S. operations.

The visit marked the first stop at a tiltrotator manufacturer in the Association of Equipment Manufacturers’ tour, which highlights the people and facilities behind the American equipment manufacturing industry.

Building a Stronger North American Base

Since entering the North American market in 2017, Steelwrist has expanded its operations to support demand for tiltrotators and fully automatic quick coupler systems.

In February 2026, the company inaugurated its expanded Newington facility, bringing machining, assembly, product testing, warehousing, training and technical support together under one roof. The investment allows Steelwrist to assemble and test products locally, strengthening its ability to serve North American dealers and contractors.

For equipment owners, local capabilities can be particularly relevant when adopting advanced attachment systems, where installation expertise, parts availability and technical assistance influence long-term operating costs.

Beyond the Manufacturing Tour

During the visit, attendees toured the facility and examined Steelwrist’s tiltrotator and quick coupler technologies. The event formed part of AEM’s Northeast tour, covering 18 manufacturing facilities across four states.

“In recent years, we have continued to invest in our people and our local capabilities, and today machining, assembly and product testing are all part of our operations here in Connecticut,”

Said Peter Gaj, VP Region Americas at Steelwrist Inc.

The expansion comes as tiltrotator technology continues to develop its position in North America, where conventional excavator attachments remain widely used.
