A program that is working to standardize data interface capability across construction site technology is expanding its efforts to include road construction equipment and solutions.
The MiC 4.0 project was recognized with a bauma Innovation Award for its work bringing together numerous users and managers to develop a universal, uniform, and manufacturer-independent data interface between construction equipment and attachments. Now, a new working group is focused on including roadbuilding as part of the overall program.
The newly founded Construction Process Interfaces working group will bring system manufacturers and construction companies together to find open solutions that standardize data exchange in road construction 4.0. At the same time, the members are creating the basis for more sustainable road construction in order to better utilize machines, reduce congestion times, minimize CO2 emissions, and improve quality.
The working group will provide a central point of contact for this effort, with other system providers, construction companies, and participants in the construction value chain encouraged to help identify challenges and develop solutions together.
Started in 2019, the group behind MiC 4.0 now encompasses more than 100 members from seven European countries, all working towards uniform digital communication.
