The renewal of Matthias Benz’s mandate defines, well in advance, the continuity of the Zeppelin Group’s management leadership. The decision comes as the company is carrying out an internal transformation program and reviewing some of its activities, with the stated aim of improving efficiency and profitability.
Matthias Benz will remain at the helm of the Zeppelin Group until 2032. The decision was formalised on July 1, 2026, by Zeppelin GmbH, in Friedrichshafen / Garching, near Munich, following the unanimous approval of the holding company’s Supervisory Board. Benz will continue to serve as Chairman of the Group Management Board and CEO under a new five-year mandate, effective from July 1, 2027, to June 30, 2032.
“We are pleased to continue working with Matthias Benz,” said Simon Blümcke, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH. “Over the past two years, he and the Management Board have provided important momentum for the strategic development of the Zeppelin Group. Under his leadership, key initiatives have been advanced to sharpen the Group’s focus, strengthen its competitiveness and further enhance the foundation for sustainable growth.”
Said Simon Blümcke, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Zeppelin GmbH.
The reappointment indicates the Supervisory Board’s intention to continue with the current management direction. In recent years, under Matthias Benz’s leadership, the Zeppelin Group has worked to strengthen its international presence, enter new areas of activity and update some of its business models. The company has also launched a Group-wide transformation program aimed at improving internal efficiency, making better use of existing resources and supporting more profitable growth.
“I am deeply grateful for the confidence placed in me by the Supervisory Board and honored to continue leading the Zeppelin Group as CEO in the years ahead,” said Matthias Benz. “My goal remains to work together with all of our colleagues to further advance Zeppelin and turn market opportunities into long-term value creation for our customers and shareholders.”
Said Matthias Benz.
The renewal of the mandate provides continuity to the Zeppelin Group’s governance at a time when the company is working to consolidate its international presence and make its operations more efficient.
