The appointment gives Kobelco a new local partner across six departments in southwest France, bringing the brand closer to contractors and equipment owners.

Kobelco Construction Machinery Europe (KCME) has appointed ALMAT, led by Benjamin Allard, as its authorised dealer for a large part of southwest France. The appointment, announced from Lelystad on 28 September, extends the manufacturer’s dealer coverage in a market where local presence decides how quickly a customer gets parts and a technician.

The territory

ALMAT will represent KCME in six departments: 16 (south and west of Charente), 17 (Charente-Maritime), 24 (Dordogne), 33 (Gironde), 40 (north of Landes) and 47 (Lot-et-Garonne). The area runs from the Atlantic coast inland through the Bordeaux region and the Dordogne.

KCME says the appointment strengthens its dealer network in France and reflects its commitment to high-quality local representation and professional support. It describes the move as an important step in the continued development of the brand’s presence in the country.

What the two sides said

“Very pleased to welcome Benjamin Allard and the entire ALMAT team. Considerable experience, strong local market knowledge and, importantly, a genuine passion for the KOBELCO brand.”

Said Jean-Philippe Delion, KCME’s Business Director in France.

Allard, ALMAT’s Managing Director, highlighted what drew him to the brand: “the quality, performance and reliability of its machines”. ALMAT, he said, is committed to giving customers the service and support they expect, and to developing the brand across the region on the back of its market knowledge and established customer relationships.

What it means for customers

For contractors and rental firms across the six departments, the practical value lies in proximity. Kobelco’s European range spans crawler excavators from 1 to 140 tonnes, a line of demolition machinery, and lattice and telescopic boom crawler cranes from 55 to 550 tonnes, backed by a parts warehouse in the Netherlands. A dealer on the ground is what turns that catalogue into workable uptime for a local customer.

The release does not give details on ALMAT’s workshop footprint, staffing or stock plans, or a start date for sales and service. Those will be the numbers to watch as the new partnership gets underway.
