Grúas Alhambra, a Spanish company specialising in lifting, special transport and crane rental, has added two 120-tonne Grove GMK5120L all-terrain cranes to its fleet. The machines were delivered during SMOPYC 2026 in Zaragoza and will be used mainly on construction projects in southern Spain.
The investment extends the relationship between the company and Grove, which began in 2018. Grúas Alhambra already operates models including the GMK5250L and GMK6400 across several applications. The addition of the new GMK5120L units forms part of a fleet renewal strategy in a market where machine availability, operator training and after-sales support can directly affect a company’s ability to meet customer requirements.
“Grove has again proved to be the right choice for our company. Our company is committed to investing in modern equipment, service quality, digital tools, and operator expertise — all of which are crucial in today’s demanding lifting market. We appreciate the excellent factory finish of the Grove cranes, in quality and overall performance. Just as important is Grove’s improved aftersales service which played a key role in our decision to add these units to our fleet”
Said Abraham Molina, CEO of Grúas Alhambra.
Grúas Alhambra already uses Grove cranes for wind turbine maintenance work. These applications require lifting capacity, long reach and reliable machine operation, often in environments where downtime and logistics can affect project progress. The new GMK5120L cranes are equipped with Grove CONNECT™, a telematics system that enables remote monitoring of crane operating status and supports diagnostic activities.
From an operational perspective, the cranes combine a maximum lifting capacity of 120 tonnes with adaptable configurations and several counterweight options. Their flexible axle-load management allows the crane setup to be adapted to transport and jobsite requirements and may help reduce preparation time and logistical complexity. Alongside the delivery, Grúas Alhambra has organised a training programme for operators. The customised Manitowoc course covers the operational use of the new cranes and safety procedures.
With more than 80 employees, the company operates from its headquarters in Granada and branches in Málaga and Jaén, providing lifting and special transport services across southern Spain.
